The naughties are back.

When we think of popular design trends from the early 2000s, dark wood and sunny hues come to mind, but nothing says the naughties like an inflatable couch. Remember those? They were often bright, glossy colors, and if you sat on them for more than a few minutes, they’d start to deflate. Well, inflatable couches are back in a big way, but now, they’re much more durable, comfortable, and stylish.

We rounded up some of the best pieces in search of the ultimate inflatable couch that’s somehow both nostalgic and current, and we think we found it, but you’ll have to keep reading to determine which of our top picks it is. We also included perhaps the first inflatable couch that was designed by famed French-Indonesian engineer Nguyen Manh Khanh in 1968. Whether or not this now collector’s item started the inflatable furniture revolution is up for debate, but there’s definitely a connection. What’s more, you’ll be shocked to learn just how much Khanh’s iconic design goes for. In its defense, there are only a few left in the world!

All in all, you really can’t go wrong with an inflatable couch. They’re affordable conversation starters that will bring you back in the best way. Plus, if you’re short on space, they’re a great way to incorporate seating that doesn’t take up precious real estate in your living area. Go ahead, shop our favorite finds now, and live out your early 2000s dreams in style.

Not quite a couch, but not really a chair either, this inflatable seat is one of our favorites, so we threw it on the list. It comes in four cool-toned shades including the green pictured, that look beautiful together, so if you want to create a unique al fresco seating arrangement, you've come to the right place. Here's what you get when you order this cool chair and a half: the inflatable seat, the outdoor performance fabric cover, and three repair patches, just in case. The air pump isn't included, so be sure to snag one with the chair so you aren't stuck blowing it up yourself for hours.

When we think of a classic inflatable couch, something like this definitely comes to mind. After all, if you're going for the naughties look, a shiny three-seater sofa you can inflate in minutes won't disappoint. At 71 inches wide, there's plenty of room for a few people, but we'll be the first to tell you that it's quite low-profile, making us think it could be designed for kids. Either way, we're into it.

At first glance, this may look like the adult version of the previous sofa, but it actually doubles as a bed, which is why it looks so tall. All you have to do is unfold the base to reveal a flat mattress-like surface. It may not be the most comfortable bed you've ever slept on, but it will certainly work for a night or two.

This Intex find also unfolds to reveal an air mattress—although this one is a bit bigger at 91 inches long. It features a waterproof surface that is soft to the touch (think microsuede) and tough enough for outdoor use, so feel free to bring it along on the camping trip. It also comes with two extra-wide openings for fast inflation and deflation, so you won't have to spend more than a few minutes blowing it up and taking it down.

How charming is this two-toned inflatable loveseat? We love it because it's made of a super-strong PVC material that basically makes it indestructible. Plus, it weighs only 21 pounds but can support more than 450 pounds, so there's no need to be too precious with it.

We couldn't round up our favorite inflatable couches and not include a classic sectional. This one, also from Intex, is designed with a waterproof-flocked surface and a vinyl bottom, making it extremely durable. Also, you may not even realize this is an inflatable couch until you sit on it because it looks like a standard sectional.

This Intex inflatable couch is dubbed the "camping sofa" because it's durable enough to use outside on the rough and tough of any forest floor, but feel free to use it indoors as well. The cozy shape, plush feel, and included cupholders make this an instant must-have for anyone in need of inflatable furniture.

The great thing about an inflatable couch is that, no matter what it looks like, it's often quite cheap—especially compared to a regular couch, which can run in the thousands. Then, we found this inflatable couch, designed in 1968 by French-Indonesian engineer Nguyen Manh Khanh. As one of the last surviving pieces of the designer's Aerospace Collection, this inflatable couch is quite literally a collector's item. It's also a bit different than the others on our list, as it is made with PVC and chrome-plated steel.

Inflatable sofas are usually significantly more affordable than luxury sofas, which is beneficial, if you ask us. They are also easy to deflate and stow away if you're short on space.

An air sofa bed is generally less comfortable than a regular bed, as that sink-in feeling doesn't really exist. Plus, they're a bit more prone to damage than regular beds.

When it comes to finding very niche furniture, the House Beautiful shopping editors have got you covered. We tuned into our more nostalgic side to bring inflatable couches that are equally stylish and affordable right to your living space.
